Abstract
Behavioral activation and inhibition were examined with event-related potentials and ratings to approach- and avoidance-related stimuli. An early frontal negativity associated with attentional capture was more negative for avoidance-related stimuli. For approach-related stimuli, the amplitude of this negativity was associated with reward, fun-seeking, and drive, tracking largely with behavioral ratings.
