Empathy, Trait Autism and Alexithymia, and Moral-Dilemma Judgments: A CNI Model and Multi-Measure Approach

Using computational modelling, this research (N = 964) demonstrates that trait autism is associated with greater utilitarian considerations and not reduced deontological concerns, cognitive empathy deficits are associated with both elevated trait autism and utilitarian moral judgments, and trait alexithymia predicts moral judgments over and above cognitive and affective empathy.
