Abstract

Our research investigated the relationship between parental care and overprotection during childhood and borderline personality disorder (BPD) characteristics in adults. We found more paternal and maternal care predicted fewer BPD characteristics in adulthood. In addition, we found overprotective parenting did not predict BPD characteristics.
