Psychological Safety in Higher Education: Evaluating Perceptions of Personal Engagement the Classroom

We developed a survey which assessed student perceptions of psychological safety in Virginia Tech courses (134 participants, 55 male). To assess psychological safety, we developed a scale which yielded an Average Psychological Safety Score (APSS). APSS varied considerably and consistently between different types of courses.
