Abstract
Changes in Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression were measured across treatment in 9 treatment resistant depressed patients who received Deep Brain Stimulation to the subcallosal cingulate cortex (DBS SCC). Depression severity decreased (p<.001) and HRV increased (p<.05) significantly over six months of SCC DBS.
