Is Trait Empathy Still Declining in American College Students? New Findings and New Directions

This study extended a meta-analysis by Konrath et al. (2011) which that found that empathy is declining in college students. This study (N=178) revealed this trend has continued for one (cognitive) measure of empathy, but has reversed for another (affective) measure. Other traits provided new explanations for the trends.
