Abstract

Food disgust sensitivity enhances restrictive eating. Orthorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by a preoccupation with eating healthy food. The association between food disgust and orthorexia symptoms was examined in community adults. Data show that food disgust predicts symptoms of orthorexia nervosa after controlling for age, gender, and income.
