Navigating Different Emotional Currents during Skill Acquisition and Adaptive Performance

Abstract

Utilizing a task-change paradigm, participants repeatedly engaged with a complex computer game. Latent class growth analysis identified subgroups exhibiting unique emotion change trajectories, examining growth in emotional valence and arousal/activation. Growth curve modeling revealed participants characterized by greater positive emotions performed best, whereas those with increasing deactivated emotions performed worst.
