Reciprocal Daily Relations between Sleep Quality and Emotion Dynamics in Adolescents.

Adolescents (n = 85, M_age = 13.47) completed 4 smartphone surveys per day for 30 consecutive days. Multilevel models showed that greater-than-usual daily mean negative affect, as well as negative affect variability and instability, predicted worse subsequent sleep, and vice versa. No significant relationships were found for positive affect.
