Estimating Emotions: Comparing Cross-Sectional, Repeated-Measure, and Emotion Recognition API Approaches

Emotion regulation ability (ERA) is a significant predictor for the vulnerability and severity of internalizing and externalizing, yet most ERA research relies on self-report instruments with limited psychometric advantages. The present study demonstrates the limitations of current ERA measurement approaches and the advantages of an emerging alternative, emotion recognition API.
