Measurement Matters: Differential Associations of Momentary and Retrospective Subjective Memory Lapses – Evidence from an Experience Sampling Study

Our study included three momentary assessments of subjective memory lapses per day over 10 days and a retrospective assessment from 325 university students. While the retrospective subjective memory lapse measure was associated with lower working memory performance, the occurrence of momentary lapses was unrelated to working memory performance.
