College Students' Willingness to Use Generative AI Depends on Context and Function

Abstract
We examined college students’ willingness to use artificial intelligence (AI) for different functions in academic, professional, and personal contexts (N = 77, 63% female, Mage = 20). Results indicated students’ willingness to “generate” and “edit” with AI was significantly higher in the academic context than the professional and personal contexts.
