Thinspiration and Fitspiration: Both Problematic on Social Media

A content analysis was conducted on 780 thinspiration and fitspiration social media posts. Thinspiration focused on content with thin ideals, bone emphasis, body guilt, restrictive eating, and mental disorders. Fitspiration included content on weight loss, nutrition, muscle mass, physical activity, and motivation and inspiration. Both objectified humans.
