Abstract

This study investigated how military deployment affects relationship satisfaction and communication in 52 US military couples. Actor-Partner Interdependence Model and LIWC linguistic analyses found effective communication and positive language to be associated with greater relationship satisfaction. These findings suggest communication may contribute to relationship outcomes following traumatic stress.
