Abstract

Previous studies testing the effects of alcohol (vs. placebo) on emotion recognition have yielded inconsistent results, which may be due to methodological limitations. In a sample of young adults (N=155), we tested whether an intoxicating dose of alcohol (vs. placebo) affected emotion recognition and demonstrated significant impairments in anger recognition.
