Abstract
We conducted an RCT of an intervention designed to promote adaptive mindsets regarding large-scale catastrophes such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The intervention reduced depressive symptoms and lowered concentrations of C-reactive protein at a 3-month follow-up. These results indicate that brief mindset interventions may facilitate coping in the aftermath of catastrophes.
