How Lexical Difficulty of Items and Vocabulary of Persons Affect Personality Assessment

We investigate how lexical difficulty of items and vocabulary of participants affect the factorial structure of personality dimensions. Lexical difficulty of personality descriptive adjectives affected whether adjectives could be rotated into a five-factorial space (Study 1). Furthermore, low person vocabulary and high item difficulty elicited systematic response tendencies (Study 2).
