Using a Virtual Reality-Based Nature Simulation to Facilitate Emotion Regulation in Adults: A Proposal to Investigate the Role of the Process Model

This research proposal will examine older and younger adults' emotions in a Virtual Reality-based nature simulation. We expect that positive emotions will increase and anxiety will decrease following the simulation. We also expect that adults who use early-process emotion regulation strategies (e.g., attentional deployment) will show stronger improvements in emotion.
