An Exploratory Study of Gen Z African American Women's Use of Image-Based Social Media

Little research on social media addresses African American women's use. This exploratory qualitative study found that Gen Z African American women curate their imaged-based social media to avoid negative content. Still, some women found this content trustworthy. Further, many of the women reported no negative impact on their self-esteem.
