Further Support for the Non-Randomness of Careless Responding

Using a sample of 150 undergraduate students, the study examined antecedents and outcomes associated with careless responding (CR). CR was positively related to cognitive ability and counterproductive academic behaviors, and negatively related to conscientiousness, agreeableness, and task performance. These findings provide further support for the idea that CR is non-random.
