“Being Virtuous = Being Immortal”: Moral Superiority Copes Mortality Salience By Providing Meaning

People keep employing moral superiority despite its negative impacts. Regarding its “meaning-making” function, we proposed that moral superiority could benefit individuals by providing them a sense of meaning. Three experiments will be conducted to address our research question. Our potential findings may contribute to better understanding of moral superiority.
