Emotion Regulation Flexibility and Effectiveness Under Interpersonal Stress: Distraction Favored Among College Students with High Interpersonal Stress

Abstract
This study explores emotion regulation strategies (distraction, acceptance, reappraisal) in 131 college students using an emotion flexibility test. Individuals with high interpersonal stress showed a preference for distraction, finding it more effective in managing high-intensity negative stimuli. Supported by previous literature, findings provide insights into factors influencing psychopathology symptoms exacerbation.
Stress
