Examining the Effect of Weight-Related Recruitment Information on Participant Characteristics: A Randomized Field Experiment

We experimentally manipulated weight-related information on study recruitment flyers, examining recruited participants’ internalized weight bias, anticipated/experienced stigmatizing experiences, eating habits, and demographics (N = 300). Weight-related information did not affect participant characteristics, and thus including comprehensive information on flyers can allow for participant autonomy without risking sampling bias.
