Examining the Complementary Effects of Prosody Perception and Musical Rhythm Perception on Adult Silent Reading Abilities

This study investigates associations between prosody, musical rhythm, and reading outcomes in adults, employing large-scale internet-based assessments and genomic techniques. Prosody (lexical stress perception) and musical rhythm discrimination both predicted silent reading fluency. Inconclusive genetic correlation results underscore the need for well-powered investigations into the biology of rhythm and reading.
