Pre-Service Teachers’ Attitudes Toward Inclusive Education for Autistic Students: Understanding the Mediating Role of Self-Efficacy

Abstract
We evaluated mechanisms that mediate the association between pre-service teachers' (N = 276) experiences in their teacher education program and attitudes about teaching autistic students in the general education context. Findings revealed pre-service teachers’ self-efficacy regarding teaching autistic students fully mediated the pathway between educational experiences/preparation and inclusive teacher attitudes.
