Abstract

We examine how early life stress influences locus of control (LOC) in adulthood. 164 participants report on stressful life events and LOC. We hypothesize that cumulative early life stress will correlate with external LOC in adulthood and be moderated by developmental timing, duration, and interpersonal nature of events.
