Mathematics Anxiety and Number Processing: The Link between Executive Functions, Cardinality, and Ordinality

Our study investigated the relationship between math anxiety, numerical abilities, and executive functions in middle school children. Math anxiety was related to poorer performance on measures of executive functions and on number line measures. Executive functions may constitute the driving force behind delays in numerical competence in math anxious children.
