Abstract
We investigated how emotion regulation strategies interact to predict anxiety symptoms in first-year UCLA students (N = 92). Cognitive reappraisal and emotional suppression interacted to predict anxiety symptoms, such as feeling fearful and/or worried. Johnson-Neyman tests showed that at low levels of cognitive reappraisal, higher emotional suppression predicted higher anxiety.
