The Predictive Role of Trait Mindfulness in Functional Connectivity during an Affective Stroop Task

Trait mindfulness (TM) is dispositional present-moment awareness with nonjudgmental-acceptance. Proposed mindfulness mechanisms suggest involvement of cognitive and emotion-regulation processes. We examined associations between trait mindfulness and fMRI signal during an emotional Stroop task. Functional connectivity analyses revealed positive relationships between TM and connectivity among areas of self-referential and emotion processing.
