Relationships Help People with Probable Major Depressive Disorder Regulate Depression Severity and Related Constructs

People (N=152) with probable MDD rated their experiences when with important network members. Analyses estimated how much constructs varied when participants were with different network members (relationship effects). There were strong relationship effects for depression severity, negative affect, self-esteem, negative automatic thoughts, hopelessness, excessive reassurance seeking, reappraisal and suppression.
