Materialism Moderates the Relation between Life Satisfaction and Pro-Environmental Behaviors

We tested whether two forms of materialism would moderate the relation between pro-environmental behaviors and life satisfaction. Although we did find moderation (t = 2.4, p = .02), we were surprised to find that the relation between pro-environmental behaviors predicted higher life satisfaction among high but not low materialists.
