Twisting the Misinformation Effect: Exploring the Potential of Contradictions in Correcting False Information

In two experiments, we modified the misinformation paradigm to explore the potential of contradictions in correcting previously encoded misinformation. Original true (Exp.1) or false (Exp.2) information was distorted by false or true contradictions introduced by a questionnaire. Contradictions were misattributed to the initial source, distorting or correcting the original information.
