Abstract

We assessed the effect of time of day and cognitive load on reactive balance while walking. Participants’ balance was less stable in the morning (M = 1.54, SE = 0.07 versus evening M= 1.78, SE = 0.06), and with left ( < .001) and right (< .001) sideways perturbations.
