Abstract
This study investigates motivational differences between typical and poor female and male middle school readers in grade 6, 8 and 10. The analyses revealed significant interactions, indicating developmental differences in reading motivation components value of reading and literacy out loud depending on the grade, reading proficiency level, and gender.
