Cross-Lagged Panel Models for Studying Psychopathology: A Comparative Overview of Structural Equation and Panel Network Approaches

This study provides an overview of four commonly used approaches (Cross-Lagged Panel Model (CLPM), Random Intercept CLPM, Cross-Lagged Network Analysis, Panel Graphical VAR Models) for examining cross-lagged associations in panel data. Our comparative overview includes an empirical illustration and simulations to compare models’ ability to recover true within-person temporal effects.
