Adolescents Today Self-Report More Mental Health Problems, but Less Stress, Than Adolescents from a Previous Generation: A Cohort Comparison

Abstract
The current study assessed trajectories of adolescent wellbeing across two longitudinal cohorts; one cohort was collected from 2017-2022 (N = 243) and the second was collected from 2003-2008 (N = 1203). Adolescents today are reporting more depressive symptoms and social anxiety, but lower levels of stress than a previous generation.
