Social Support and Alcohol Use Severity Mediate the Association between Difficulties in Emotion Regulation and Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms

We investigated a serial mediation model for difficulties with emotion regulation (DES) to posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) through social support evaluation (SSE) and alcohol use severity (AUS) among 204 trauma-exposed individuals (M_age = 33.4). The results using PROCESS Model 6 revealed two significant indirect effects i.e., through SSE or AUS.
