Abstract
This qualitative multiple case study used video-taped observations of parent-child book reading and interviews to explore five families’ and two co-teachers’ experiences and views about sharing an award-winning book about the Holocaust with 6-8-year-olds. Findings include themes and assertions about empathy, age- and developmental- appropriateness, and home and school communication.
