Abstract

Two studies will experimentally manipulate the language used to describe the Latin American Identity and measure the impact of these linguistic cues on identification with other Latin Americans and civil engagement. These studies fill a pressing need to understand reactions to “Latinx”, “Latina/o” and “Latine”, within the Latin American community.
