Just Say Yes? Reasons for Drug Use in Artists

Stimulants, Hallucinogens, depressants, and entactogens were compared on nine possible reasons for their use by artists. Recreation, altering consciousness, and emotion amplification received the highest, and acting subversively and subduing emotions received the lowest. Rationales differed significantly across the 4 classes of drugs, and between artists and non-artists.
