Abstract
We analyzed data from 405 students aged 12-13 in a mathematics course. A strong correlation emerged in first-generation students between anxiety and working memory (r = -0.331, p < 0.001), absent for continuing-generation students (r = -0.050, p = 0.390). This emphasizes the link between emotions and cognitive functions.
