Racial Identity and Exposure to Racial Microaggressions in College at HBCUs and Hwis

We examined frequency of racial microaggressions for Black students at HWIs compared to HBCUs. Type of institution significantly predicted exposure to microaggressions, F(1, 57)=7.80, p < .01, as students attending HWIs reported greater exposure (M=2.43, SD=0.57) as compared to participants who attended HBCUs (M =1.99, SD = 0.64).
