Abstract

We examined impacts of (un)resolved events and subjective reports of what prevents and promotes psychological closure/resolution using mixed-methods. Undergraduates (N=74) selected (un)resolved events, rated them on various characteristics, and responded to open-ended questions about closure. Findings revealed positive impacts of closure, along with self-initiated, other-initiated, and existential/external determinants of closure.
