Abstract

Maternal physiological stress reactivity and anxiety/depression symptoms during pregnancy may lead to infant vulnerability. A data-driven approach of 64 pregnant women revealed two stress groups. The higher stress group had infants with poorer temperamental regulation and parenting competency postpartum. Connections between increased vulnerability and poor health outcomes warrants further exploration.
