Abstract
The Violation of Expectation (VoE) paradigm has been used to argue infants’ longer looking times reveal their innate knowledge of natural laws. However, we found infants no longer distinguished VoE from control events when presented at home, by a person, or with repetition suggesting VoE findings may be paradigmatic artifacts.
