Children’s Enhanced Adult Voice Recognition Ability Predicts Reading Ability

Abstract

Primary children showed superior voice recognition for adults compared to peers. Moreover, voice recognition ability was significantly associated with their reading ability. The results suggest the importance of social interactions with adults in enriching children’s language development.
