Abstract
Previous research has understudied differential prediction and validity of aptitude tests for academic performance for first-generation vs. continuing-generation college students. Relations between generational status, SAT scores, and GPAs were examined. Results suggest first-generation students’ GPAs are overpredicted by SAT scores but did not suggest differential validity based on generational status.
