Abstract

Undergraduates (n = 358) at a U.S. university were randomly assigned to view one of three CNN news stories. Participants whose story depicted Iranian citizens protesting Iran’s government had more favorable attitudes toward Iranian Americans than one depicting plans of Iran’s government (η2 =.044, a small to medium-sized effect).
