Abstract
Two studies examined the nature and possible origins of perfectionism in junior high and college-aged adolescents. Results revealed that during both early and later adolescence some perfectionism dimensions (e.g., excessive concern over mistakes) were associated with detrimental adjustment outcomes (e.g., lower self-esteem, higher anxiety, more depressive symptoms, more eating disorders).
