Agency and Communion: Agency Predicts the Propensity to Hire Women of Color in Blue and White Collar Positions

Abstract

Results suggest that WOC were more likely to be hired for the blue-collar than the white-collar positions. Participants who endorsed colour-blind racial attitudes and valued agentic traits over communal traits were less likely to hire WOC. Participants who scored high on ambivalent sexism were less likely to hire WOC.
